Co-constructivist tool

This is one of the important ict tool that we can apply in teaching and learning.  We have learned in between the date of 20 April to 1 May. From that learning i could understand that it is also known as collaborative tool where this idea is inspired by Vygotsky's social development theory. which means it focuses on the connections between people and the socio-cultural context in which they act and interact in shared experiences.

In this sessions we are asked to plan a integrated lesson plan as an assignment where our tutor has divided our class into group and asked to use the college mail to discuss the lesson. In the process of doing this task i could learn how to use the google doc to meet the friends to discuss. The co-constructivist strategy is very helpful to have better discussion in teaching and learning.  

I feel the lesson plan will be good enough because we could discuss in a productive way using the google doc where we can meet the friends at any time to discuss the lesson though we are in different places we could make the good   integrated lesson plan without any problem.                                           Integrated lesson plan

The another ICT tool that we have learned in between the date of 6 April to 10 April is constructivist tool. According to the constructivist learning theory, human learning is constructed, that learners build new knowledge upon the foundation of previous learning. This prior knowledge, influences what new or modified knowledge an individual will construct from new learning experiences. On top of that learning is considered as an active rather than a passive process so that learner can learn effectively.

During that week we have discussed focusing on role of ICT in fostering the constructive approach of learning. In these session we were asked to create an advertisement simulation of our own Dzongkhag's local tour and travel by using power point. As the work process i could learn lots of thing. I knew how to design the slide layout, inserting animation, background music, and picture which we can make the slide attractive for the advertisement. I would say that learning such thing will help in our future in the teaching field to teach the children where we can use ppt to teach the lesson so that children can learn with different method and they may feel and keen interest of learning differently.

In between the date of 13 April to 17 April we have continued with the constructivist tool. Where we have focused on creating the video tutorial using camtesia studio. We were asked to teach the integrated lesson plan using this tool. I have learned and gained lots of knowledge of how i can edit the and make the effective video tutorial to teach the children well planned. I feel such teaching can also be done any time where such type of teaching don't need learner to be in the same room. We can use the internet to upload the teaching and learners can learn at any time. 

Communicative tool

In between 30 March to 3 April we have discussed about the second tool that is communication tool. The fundamental to teacher and the student's success is the teacher's ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. 

The communication skills involve:

Communicating clearly, Articulating thoughts and ideas effectively using oral, written and non-verbal communication skills, Listening  effectively to decipher meaning, including knowledge, values, attitudes and intentions and using  communication for a range of purposes (e.g., to inform, instruct, motivate and persuade). Utilize multiple media and technologies, and know how to judge their effectiveness a prior as well as assess their impact. I could understand that teacher must have good communication skills to help their students achieve academic success. We have learnt the tools that teacher can use to communicate, create, information with their students.

In this sessions we have learned how to create a blog as a tool to communicate. We individually created our blog to reflect the learning that we did throughout the sessions where it keep track about our day to day learning. I feel blog account is good and effective for the communication where we can write and keep the record and review it when it is needed. 

Source of information faster in disseminating the information

There are many sources of information like television, radio, internet (www, social media, chatrooms, forums and blog) , newspaper, ebook and etc… and among all this I find the internet to be the most fastest in disseminating the information. The Internet is used as an information tool world wide and by every individual as it is fast, accurate, used world wide and has created convenience in sharing and receiving information between users. The Internet has made life easier and information easily accessible. Internet has acted as  a source of information just on the tip of one's finger as with the use of internet we can use internet to connect with the entire world, connect with other people, share information, knowledge, experiences, share file, use as a means for entertainment, socializing by chatting and using social meadies( facebook, messenger, instagram etc…)  and many more which can be beneficial for oneself and others. Since the internet is used by everyone I find the internet to be the fastest in disseminating the information compared to other sources.

How can we integrate information tools in teaching and learning?

We can  integrate information tools in teaching and learning by providing an information tool to students in the beginning or during or after the activity for more knowledge and information, for reference and for content. We can integrate information tools to analyze, synthesize and manipulate information that need to be presented to students.  Teachers can use informative tools to construct their own knowledge and meaning. Example: A teacher can use information tools to prepare a lesson, conduct a lesson  and lastly close a lesson. I as a teacher will use various information tool to construct my own knowledge and meaning, the manipulate, analyse and synthesize the information tools and use it during my lesson delivery like using of picture or image to introduce my lesson, the use text features to carry out with my lesson input, then provide with videos, sound, animation and graphics to close my lesson. We can even integrate ICT information tools to assign students works. We can use information tools to give work and students can use information tools to gather, present and do their assignments.

Digital native vs digital immigration

Digital native are those who are born in the world of digital. These people are advanced in using digital tools. people who are much familiar in using computers, videogames and digital music players, cell phones or wireless phones and other digital tools.“Digital native are native speakers of technology, fluent in the digital language of computers, video games and the internet”. “Digital natives,” “net geners,” “netizens,” “homo zappiens,” or something else, it is clear that the members of the first generation to grow up surrounded by digital media (those now aged eleven to thirty-one) are different from the “digital immigrants” who learned to “do technology” later in life.Digital immigrants are people who are born without knowledge of technologies. They are unaware of digital use until they get exposed to or learn technologies later in life. Many of the instructors are considered as digital immigrants as incorporated in later life.

The concept on information tool

Informative tools are applicants which provide vast repositories of information / content to learners' activity. The computer can provide vast amounts of information through various information tools which are text, graphics, sound, image, animation and video.

1. Text

Text are the characters that can be used to create letters, words, sentences and paragraphs and it can be alphanumeric. Using text we can convey information as it can be referred over a time.

2.                   Image

Picture can be also used as an information tool as picture speaks thousand and louder than the words.

3.                   Sound /Audio

Sound and audio like music, speech, dialogues or any other sound can also be used as an information tool as one speaks and the other listens. Only providing pictures and text seems useless without explanation (sound/ narration).

4.                   Video

Video refers to displaying images and text on a computer monitor and since videos can be compromises of text, sound and image it seems to act as an effective information tool.

5.                   Animation

Animation refers to graphics that create illusion and motion. Information tools like animation are interesting and informative too.

6.                   Graphics

Graphics are said to be the combination of text, sound , animation, video, image and etc which is more meaning full information tool and effective too.
